Night Attacks: Aid for Victims in Odesa

image

On the night of July 18-19, the enemy launched another massive drone attack on the city. As a result, residential buildings, civil infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged, and there are casualties. Unfortunately, one of the rescued women has died.

At the site of the attack aftermath, non-governmental organizations worked throughout the day alongside district administrations and municipal services. The support and coordination of aid are managed by the city councilor Veronika Etnarovich.

The NGO “April Tenth” in partnership with UNHCR provided comprehensive assistance:

  • blankets, pillows, flashlights, dishes, and other essential items,
  • OSB board supply,
  • legal consultations for residents,
  • psychological support.

IRC also provided onsite psychological assistance.

From the morning, teams from WCK and the charity “Morning of Revival” were providing drinks and hot meals.

The “Winds of Change” foundation offered kits for mothers and children.

The Red Cross Society provided assistance to the affected individuals since the night. During the day, they continued their work on-site by distributing film, tarpaulin, and first aid kits.

The “Odesa City Rescue and Diving Service” together with the NGO “Dobrobat” dismantled hazardous elements of the building and cleared the surrounding area and stairs.

Odesa expresses gratitude to its partners and UN OCHA for their support and solidarity in these challenging times.
