Since the beginning of 2025, the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» in Odesa has successfully undertaken the removal of 1522 emergency and dead trees and branches, including those damaged by severe weather.

Tree assessments are conducted in collaboration with the Department of Ecology and Recreational Zone Development. Based on the findings, «Miskzelentrest» carries out the removal of hazardous trees.

Generally, the removal of emergency trees occurs in response to citizen requests, due to weather events, or as part of municipal beautification programs.

Additionally, the team is engaged in stump removal. So far, 828 stumps have been removed, and young trees are being planted in their places.

Stump removal is a challenging task. Until this year, municipal workers lacked the specialized equipment needed to remove stumps, complicating and prolonging the process. Now, work is carried out using new machinery: the Rotor Speedy 80/100 stump grinder and the KATA KF1404 tractor with 140 horsepower, designed for timely and efficient stump removal.
With this new equipment, workers significantly reduce the time required for physically demanding tasks: previously, manual stump removal was scheduled for 12 hours, while the process for a 70 cm diameter stump now takes just 40 minutes.
