The war has left a profound impact on all participants in the educational process. In these challenging times, the role of teachers who can provide initial psychological support to children is increasingly vital.

On July 16, 2025, a presentation of the inclusive educational project «Alphabet of Empathy» was held at the Odesa Lyceum «European» for teachers of municipal educational institutions in Odesa. This initiative aims to support the mental health of children in Ukraine.

The goal of the «Alphabet of Empathy» project is to overcome barriers and stereotypes about people with disabilities, fostering empathetic thinking and respect for diverse human experiences among children.

During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with educational materials, engage in discussions, and share experiences.

As part of the project, teachers will be able to participate in free online training sessions and receive international certification. Educational institutions will be provided with books titled «Alphabet of Empathy» and methodological guides for educators.

The program is designed for children aged 5 to 10 and can be conducted in the format of regular lessons; it has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The project is implemented in Odesa by the Chepchynski Family Foundation (Poland) in cooperation with Direct Relief (USA) and other partners.
