The new academic year has commenced in Odesa's educational institutions, starting on September 2, coinciding with the city's celebration.

The primary role of today's teachers is to cultivate a safe environment, support students during tough times, and instill a sense of stability and confidence.

The first lesson of this academic year in Odesa's schools was dedicated to honoring the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine, who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.

“May our nights be peaceful and our dawns joyful... May all who long for Odesa return home. May the Lord protect every child, every family, and every defender. May He strengthen our soldiers in their noble cause, and as a society, we must honor those who have allowed us to live, learn, and dream. This comes at the highest cost. Thousands of lives, thousands of voices we must remember. We are embarking on a new journey. And that is already a great happiness,” said Olena Buinevych, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.
