The Odesa museum of genocide «Territory of Memory» hosted a special seminar for social studies teachers in honor of Holodomor Remembrance Day.

During the event, participants were introduced to important historical lessons regarding the genocides of the 20th century that took place on Ukrainian soil, as well as their relevance in the context of current challenges, particularly during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The educators were also presented with the museum's educational projects and recommendations for teaching the tragic history of Holodomor, taking into account the age characteristics of students and the current realities of martial law in Ukraine.

Teachers discovered lesser-known aspects of Holodomor history in the Odesa region through an engaging, fact-rich lecture. Specific examples illustrated all the signs of genocide against Ukrainian peasantry in 1932-1933 and the Ukrainian national elite in 1930-1933.

Additionally, educators explored the museum's exhibition «Territory of Memory», which is dedicated to the theme of genocides.
