A young man has been apprehended by law enforcement on suspicion of drug-related offenses.

Police officers discovered a 23-year-old suspect in the Khadzhibey district while he was preparing to distribute drugs. During the search, they found a packet containing a highly dangerous psychotropic substance, confirmed by an express test. Additionally, officers retrieved eight more packets from hidden locations, all containing similar substances. All seized materials have been sent for examination.

During the investigation, it was established that the suspect received illegal goods from an unknown individual he met online, subsequently distributing them through hidden locations.

“With sufficient evidence, we have charged the individual under part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal acquisition and storage with the intent to distribute highly dangerous psychotropic substances. This crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison,” said investigator Serhiy Zholonko.

The court has placed the suspect under house arrest. Authorities are working to establish the channel through which the banned substances were delivered to the young man.

The investigation continues under the supervision of the Malinovsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa.
