The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, held a meeting with representatives of the International Medical Corps.
In 2024, renovations to the shelter of maternity hospital No. 5 were completed by the International Medical Corps, including a complete overhaul of the ventilation, water supply, heating, and drainage systems.
The shelter is now equipped with comprehensive medical equipment and a powerful oxygen concentrator for artificial ventilation.
All necessary conditions for childbirth and medical assistance for mothers and newborns have been established here.
Additionally, the International Medical Corps has renovated basement facilities to create a temporary shelter for residents of nearby buildings.
"I thank our partners for their support. We have provided the maternity hospital with three powerful generators for backup power supply, including autonomous power for the shelter and the women's clinic," noted Hennadii Trukhanov.
Modern resuscitation equipment was also purchased for the intensive care unit and a Class C ambulance, funded by the city budget.
Maternity hospital No. 5 specializes in providing obstetric care for premature births and intensive therapy for newborns with extremely low birth weights starting from 500 grams.
