«New Stamp for Infantry Day: A Tribute of Support»
Today, May 27, the ceremonial unveiling of a new charity postage stamp dedicated to Infantry Day took place.
This release honors the bravery of infantry soldiers, who serve as the backbone of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The stamp symbolizes gratitude to those who first stand to protect our nation, defend its borders, and liberate occupied territories.
The stamp's creator is the renowned Ukrainian artist and laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize, Andriy Yermolenko. He depicted a Ukrainian warrior stepping on a two-headed eagle, a symbol of victory over aggression.
Andriy Yermolenko, known for his sketch for the stamp «They Stood Firm! Concrete Couldn’t Hold!» (2020), emphasizes: «Infantry soldiers are those whose boots are the first to stand on enemy soil. They do not conquer; they protect».
The nominal value of the stamp is 20 hryvnias (letter U) + 8 hryvnias as a charitable contribution. The charity funds (8 hryvnias from each stamp) will be allocated for reconstructive facial surgery for Ukrainian defenders injured by explosive devices.
The print run is 150,000 copies.
Together, we will support those who fight for our future every day!
