An extraordinary incident unfolded in the Primorsky district of Odesa involving a fire in underground electric cables. Rescue teams discovered the body of an unidentified woman in the shaft of a transformer substation. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

The event took place yesterday, June 29, in the evening on Bernardazzi Street. Underground electric cables caught fire within the transformer substation. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze.

"Unfortunately, at the fire scene, in the shaft beneath the transformer substation, the body of a woman (identity being established) was found, who presumably died from electric shock. Two units of equipment and eight firefighters from the emergency service were involved," the statement said.
