The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment against a former official from one of the district administrations. He is charged with receiving an illicit benefit (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During the investigation, it was established that while temporarily performing the duties of the head of the district administration, this man offered an entrepreneur to produce and issue permits for four trading spots for 100,000 UAH. He also promised to assist in concluding agreements for the use of these trading facilities. In addition to the initial sum, the official planned to receive a monthly ‘fee’ of 1,000 UAH for each spot to ensure uninterrupted business operations. In June, law enforcement officials caught the representative of the district administration ‘in the act’ in his office while accepting the bribe. He has since been dismissed from his position. The measures to expose the criminal activity were carried out by prosecutors in collaboration with investigators from the Odesa Regional Police under the operational support of the SBU.
