The loss or theft of your driver’s documents is an unfortunate situation that can happen to anyone, especially in crisis conditions where relocation is often necessary. What should you do if you have lost your vehicle registration certificate?
Stay calm. You can quickly restore your driver’s documents at any MVS service center. If you cannot personally visit the center, you can authorize another person to act on your behalf by granting them a power of attorney.
To restore your documents, you need to visit the MVS service center with the following documents:
passport with registration of your residence (or ID card and a residence extract);
copy of the taxpayer registration number;
police report (if the document was stolen).
The estimated cost for the service is 350 UAH for administrative services and 540 UAH for the certificate form. You can also choose to get a new license plate or keep the existing one. The re-registration and issuance of documents are done on the same day. Additionally, during the re-registration, you can request an electronic registration certificate without a plastic form.
More detailed information can be found on the website of the Main Service Center of the MVS at the provided link.
Please note that services in territorial units require prior registration in the E-Record system or through a terminal located in the MVS service center.
