The Juvenile Police of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Railway Company, is addressing the issue of dangerous activities among teenagers, specifically the act of "train surfing."
Teenagers seeking thrills climb onto train roofs, cling to moving trains, and cross tracks in prohibited areas.
This is not just extreme fun; it poses serious threats to life and health, including fatal injuries, amputations, and electrocution.
From April 10 to May 10, 2025, a joint preventive campaign will be launched by the Juvenile Police and the Railway Company.
Throughout the month:
- we will visit schools and vocational training centers
- engage in open and accessible conversations with children
- alongside experts, we will explain why railways are not a playground!
What to do if you witness dangerous behavior by children on the railway?
If you are at a station and see children who:
- are attempting to climb onto a train
- are already on the roof
- are playing near the tracks
Act quickly but carefully.
Inform the station attendant or any railway staff member.
Call the police (102) or emergency services (101) — specialists will respond promptly.
Warn or shout at the children planning to surf or already outside of passenger cars.
Document the incident and individuals involved — this will assist in identification and notifying parents.
Be attentive to your children. Discuss real risks with them!
