As of the morning of April 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine is down by 12.6% compared to April 18.
NEK “Ukrenergo” reported on Facebook about the continued decline in electricity consumption, as noted by Ukrinform.
“Today, April 21, at 9:30 AM, the level of electricity consumption was 12.6% lower than the previous working day — Friday. This is due to a non-working day declared by certain employers,” the agency quotes the company.
Moreover, sunny and warm weather across Ukraine is contributing to a reduction in electricity consumption from the grid.
Ukrenergo advises to shift active energy consumption to the period when solar power plants operate most efficiently, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
It is worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the heating season for 2024/2025 officially ended in Ukraine.
Heat supply has been discontinued in all regions, but some social institutions — hospitals, kindergartens, schools — will continue to receive heating under certain temperature conditions.
How many times did the Russian Federation attack Ukraine's energy system during the heating season
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the successful completion of the third heating season amid full-scale war, despite numerous Russian attacks on the energy system.
According to him, during the heating season of 2024/2025, Russia carried out 9 massive and dozens of smaller attacks on the Ukrainian energy system.
“And despite all this, we endured. In the homes of millions of Ukrainians, in schools and hospitals, there was light and heat. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions,” said the Prime Minister.
