Two individuals were apprehended as they brought a client to the border and received payment. They have been charged and are under detention. They face up to nine years in prison with asset confiscation.

The strategic investigation department of the Odesa region, along with border guards, uncovered the criminal activities of two residents from the Rozdilna district. According to law enforcement, the men, aged 30 and 39, promised a client from Odesa to assist him in crossing the border illegally for $3000.

Police documented how the suspects met the client, kept him in a house until nightfall, and then drove him towards the border while showing the route on a phone map.

The perpetrators were arrested after receiving the agreed amount for their «services». Investigators seized the money, mobile phones, and the vehicle used.

According to investigator Kateryna Abkhinadze, the suspects have been charged under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for organizing illegal transportation of individuals across the state border. This crime carries a penalty of up to nine years in prison and asset confiscation.

The court has placed the suspects in pre-trial detention with the option of bail set at 242,240 UAH, which one of them has already utilized. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa.

During the pre-trial investigation, police will identify all individuals involved in the illegal transfer.
