In Odesa, the process of establishing special markings for a barrier-free route is ongoing.
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has unveiled a new official design for communications within the framework of the National Strategy for Creating an Accessible Environment by 2030.
This design includes:
- a unique logo;
- established guidelines for font and color usage;
- a visual system,
- based on six areas of accessibility:
- physical,
- informational,
- educational,
- digital,
- civic,
- economic.
Each of these areas is represented by a separate dot in the logo. Together they form a circle, symbolizing unity, inclusion, and equal space for all, regardless of their characteristics.
This logo is being utilized for marking the barrier-free route in Odesa.
This is a significant step in a larger initiative launched by Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, as part of the pilot project «Movement Without Barriers». The marking is carried out by expert groups of the Council for Barrier-Free Environment, involving people with disabilities, urban planners, and accessibility specialists.
