In Odesa, rescue teams have successfully concluded search operations following devastating weather conditions. According to Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine's recovery, Oleksiy Kuleba, 10 people lost their lives, while over 380 residents were saved.
Kuleba stated, "Rescue teams have completed their search efforts. Unfortunately, 10 individuals died due to the weather conditions, but over 380 were rescued."
Emergency recovery works are ongoing. Water has been pumped out from more than 60 sites, and infrastructure is being prepared for further recovery efforts. Approximately 30 sites remain under operation. The most water was collected in underground parking lots, where over 15 thousand cubic meters have already been pumped out.
Additionally, 40 out of 42 flooded shelters have been cleared.
According to Kuleba, commissions are starting to assess housing for further compensation, as well as a commission to investigate the causes of the tragedy.
A "hotline" for the unified citizen appeal center 15-35 is operational. An additional line 15-01 has been added. More than 500 messages have been received on the "hotlines" and emergency services over the past two days.
Due to the storm and overnight Russian shelling, 46 thousand subscribers in Odesa remain without electricity. Energy workers and rescuers are working under challenging conditions to restore power as soon as possible. Water and gas supply in the city and region are operating normally.
Preparations are underway to open 161 resilience points where people can charge their devices and warm up.
