On the evening of November 8, a fire broke out in the roof of a private residential building in the Peresyp district of Odesa. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames over an area of 90 square meters, although the effort was complicated by excessive clutter in the yard. A total of 6 units of equipment and 23 firefighters from the State Emergency Service (SES) were involved, along with 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel from the Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association. Thankfully, there were no casualties or injuries.
According to the Main Department of the SES in the Odesa region, the fire occurred in the evening on Postal Street in the Peresyp area. The flames engulfed the roof of a private house, posing a threat to neighboring structures.
“The excessive clutter in the yard complicated the firefighting efforts, but the fire was successfully contained over an area of 90 square meters. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries,” SES officials reported.
Emergency response teams rapidly arrived at the scene; the SES deployed 6 units of equipment and 23 firefighters, while the Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association contributed 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel. The cause of the fire and the extent of property damage are currently being investigated by specialists, with various theories being considered, including violations of fire safety regulations and electrical malfunctions.
