On January 11, 2026, a fire occurred in the Peresyp district of Odesa, specifically on the 21st kilometer of the Starokyivska road, at a woodworking production facility.
The firefighting efforts were hampered by strong winds. Due to heavy smoke, firefighters operated with breathing and vision protection equipment. Thanks to their efforts, nearby buildings were saved. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A total of 17 units of equipment and 52 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved in the firefighting efforts.
The Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association contributed 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel.
Additionally, 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel from the Municipal Guard were involved, as well as 1 unit of equipment and 3 personnel from the Rescue Diver Service.
