From September 15 to 21, Ukraine hosted the III Civic Engagement Week, aimed at fostering an active civic stance and initiatives that shape an open and fair society.

As part of the Civic Engagement Week and the nationwide campaign 'Barrier-Free – This is When You Can', an interactive event titled 'Open Dialogue for Peace' was held in Odesa.

This event, dedicated to the International Day of Peace, brought together teenagers, leaders, art school teachers from Odesa, youth, and parents.

Participants explored what peace means to us and how each of us can contribute to its preservation.

During the facilitation game, a safe space was created with an atmosphere of trust, acceptance, and active listening. Everyone had the opportunity to share their experiences and be heard.

The event took place within the framework of the artistic and educational project 'Peace Love Unity: Creating Together', with international participation, focusing on mutual respect, cultural equality, and unity as values of a barrier-free society. The initiative was led by Ukrainian cultural figure, artist, and mentor Lyudmila Mazur.

The facilitation kit 'Open Dialogue for Peace' was developed with the support of the European Union under the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Development Program. The methodology has been tested in Ukraine and Switzerland and has also been implemented in Georgia, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Finland.
