Vasyl Lomachenko: The End of a Boxing Career

Vasyl Lomachenko, the former world champion, has decided to retire from professional boxing.

He shared this significant decision through a post on his Facebook page.

In his usual style, Lomachenko expressed gratitude to God, his father and coach, his family, his team, and even the USA. However, in his statement, he did not mention Ukraine, the Ukrainian fans, or the ongoing war.

It is noteworthy that he announced his retirement to fans in the Russian language.

"Every boxer reaches a day when they must hang up their gloves. That day has come for me", he stated.

Lomachenko's last fight was against George Kambosos, where he won the IBF lightweight title. Since then, he has not stepped into the ring.

Media reports have indicated that he has faced health issues, particularly a back injury.

Recently, there has been active discussion about Lomachenko's potential return to the ring. Several boxers have shown interest in a possible fight with him, including Keyshawn Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and even the Russian Abdullaev.

Lomachenko has found himself in controversial situations multiple times. For instance, he recently met with the metropolitan of the UOC MP, previously investing in a Russian company, and expressed dissatisfaction with the metropolitan of the PCU, Epiphanius.
