Ukrainian grandmaster Anna Muzychuk, part of the "Freedom" team, secured a bronze medal at the 2025 World Team Championship in rapid and blitz.

Following her victory over reigning world champion Ju Wenjun at the prestigious Norway Chess tournament, where she claimed gold, Anna competed in her second team World Championship in rapid and blitz held in London.

Muzychuk joined the "Freedom" team, which included nine other chess players, among them five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand. A total of 54 teams participated, competing in 12 Swiss-system rounds, with six players per match.

The former world champion of 2016 in rapid and blitz played six games at the club championship: she achieved one victory against Shoka Gaalem from "Team Hungary", four draws, and suffered a defeat to Elina Rebers from "Knight Dance" in the final, 12th game. This contributed three points to her team's total.

After 12 rounds of the club world championship, Anna Muzychuk's team "Freedom" accumulated 17 points in the standings and earned bronze medals. The championship was won by "Team MGD1" with 21 points, while "Hexamind Chess Team" took silver with 20 points.

Currently, according to the latest FIDE ranking updated in June, Anna Muzychuk holds the seventh position with 2535 points.
