Adaptive sports play a vital role in helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life and fostering their physical and psychological socialization.
In the Peresyp district of Odesa, the first pickleball training session was held for veterans and their families. Representatives from the Veterans Affairs Department of the Odesa City Council also participated in the event.
Pickleball combines elements of tennis and badminton, making it highly inclusive for individuals of all fitness levels.
The training was led by veteran Mykhailo Zimin, who initiated the inclusion of pickleball in rehabilitation activities.
“We continue to support initiatives aimed at developing veteran policies in close cooperation with the community and the veterans themselves,” noted the director of the Veterans Affairs Department, Volodymyr Yermakov.
