The shelling resulted in the destruction of several private residential homes and outbuildings. A garage containing three vehicles was also demolished. Fires broke out at the scene, quickly extinguished by firefighters and volunteers working together. 

Initial reports indicate that three individuals sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
