The situation on the southern front is becoming more tense. Yesterday, Russian forces increased the frequency of drone strikes and artillery shelling. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, during a televised briefing.
"The situation has become quite complicated, evident from the fact that the enemy has intensified their actions: over the past day, there were more drone strikes and artillery shelling aimed not only at our positions but also at nearby settlements along the front line. Additionally, there has been an increase in the munitions used in these attacks," he noted.
According to Voloshin, there were generally fewer combat clashes in the south compared to other directions.
"There were 13 combat clashes in the south, eight of which occurred in the Huliaipole direction, where the enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to take control of Poltavka for several days. Moreover, four clashes took place in the Orikhiv direction, near the settlements of Kamianske and Stepove, while the enemy attempted to storm our positions near the Antonivski bridges, but without success," he explained.
Voloshin also informed that in the Orikhiv direction, Russian occupiers once again utilized motorcycles in their assault on Stepove, but they suffered losses and retreated.
On the front yesterday, October 6, there were 193 combat clashes recorded between the Defense Forces and the Russian invaders, and Ukrainian troops repelled 59 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
