The Odesa Art Museum has announced two significant events focusing on the changes in museum institutions during wartime. These include the presentation of the «Museum for Change» initiative and the panel discussion titled «Museums in New Realities». Both events will take place at 5a Sofiivska Street.
Presentation of «Museum for Change» – May 17
On May 17 at 5:00 PM, a presentation titled «Museum for Change. Supporting the Museum Community During War» will be held. The speaker will be Daria D'yakova, the head of the «Museum for Change» NGO. She will share insights into the transformation of the Odesa Art Museum, the evacuation of its collection, international support, and the new responsibilities museums have taken on in response to wartime challenges.
Panel Discussion «Museums in New Realities» – May 18
The following day, on May 18 at 4:00 PM, the museum will host a panel discussion titled «Museums in New Realities». Participants will discuss the role of museums in forming inclusive communities, the innovative roles of cultural institutions, and the influence of Oleksandr Roitburd. Scholars Yuliya Tomashevskaya, Serhiy Shevtsov, and Inna Holubovych will participate, with Victor Levchenko moderating the discussion.
