On November 8, 2024, the International Cultural Center UNION hosted a special evening honoring Elena Shevchenko, the renowned host of international jazz competitions and festivals, under the theme "Jazz and Beyond". 

For her extensive and dedicated work, and significant contribution to the arts and culture, Elena was presented with a valuable gift from the Mayor of Odesa and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odesa City Council.  

Elena Shevchenko, a musicologist and lecturer in the pop music department at the K. Dankevich College of Arts and Culture, a knowledgeable figure in music history and jazz, is the founder of the VKO Jazz Club named after M. Holoshchapov and is affectionately known as "Lady Jazz". 

During the celebratory evening, her students and colleagues presented various jazz performances. Young musicians from Art Schools No. 1, 3, and 4 participated. 

The creative evening concluded with a traditional and vibrant jam session.
