In Odessa, hydraulic testing of the heating system is currently underway, which is a crucial step in preparing for the upcoming winter heating season.
The pipes are being tested for tightness and strength to minimize the risk of emergencies during the heating period. The temperature of the heat carrier is maintained below 40°C. Sections of the heating network that require repairs are being replaced with new ones.
As part of the city's winter preparations, assistance continues from the USAID Energy Security Project.
Over the last month, four shipments of pre-insulated steel pipes, along with fittings and shut-off valves, have been delivered to the municipal enterprise «TMO».
In total, the enterprise has received pre-insulated steel pipes with polyurethane insulation:
- diameter 325 — 816 meters;
- diameter 219 — 24 meters;
- diameter 108 — 78 meters;
- diameter 57 — 14 meters.
Additionally, «TMO» has received: ball valves, heat-shrinkable sleeves, stationary supports, couplings, sealing rings, insulation kits for joints, and expansion cushions.
This assistance will enable further planned work to replace damaged heating networks.
«TMO» urges residents and visitors of Odessa to park their vehicles only in designated areas and to avoid approaching areas where ground subsidence has been noticed. Please also report such instances to the specialized center for prompt response in the housing and utilities sector — 15-01.
