Prospective police officers had the chance to delve into the intriguing realm of forensics, acquiring practical insights from seasoned police professionals that will aid them in their future careers.
The meeting took place at the training and simulation complex dedicated to police operations in typical and extreme situations at the Odesa Academy of Police's primary vocational training center.
Experts from the forensic support sector of the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa region, including Tetyana Skyrtenko, Natalia Rybak, and Pavlo Apalkov, shared their expertise with cadets from the department of preliminary investigation training.
The police officers not only discussed the nuances of their profession but also showcased the crucial role of a specialist during the examination of a crime scene. At a specially staged location, future investigators observed the processes of searching for and documenting crime evidence, as well as the collection and proper packaging of physical evidence.
During the event, cadets tried on special protective uniforms used by police in their daily operations, filled out fingerprint cards, and collected biological traces.
The event unfolded in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, and the best reward for the organizers was the genuine interest and engagement from the youth.
At the end of the meeting, forensic experts encouraged the cadets to believe in themselves, exhibit resilience, and strive for professional growth.
