This night brought horrifying news from the Yaskiv community.

This morning, a 43-year-old woman from one of the villages reported to the police the sudden death of her nine-month-old daughter.

However, during the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered that the mother, in a state of nervous breakdown due to the baby's crying, inflicted bodily harm on the child.

Preliminary findings suggest that the child's death may have been caused by asphyxiation. The exact cause will be determined by a forensic examination.

The woman has been detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Authorities are considering charging her with the intentional murder of a minor, which can result in imprisonment for up to 15 years or life.

As part of the proceedings initiated under paragraph 2, part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, several expert examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing, with the procedural oversight conducted by the Bilyaivka District Prosecutor's Office.
