Yesterday morning, a fire erupted in a top-floor apartment of a three-story residential building on Kyra Muratova Street in the Primorsky district of Odesa. The belongings of the residents in one of the rooms were ablaze.

This information was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Firefighters swiftly extinguished the flames and prevented them from spreading to adjacent rooms. During the firefighting efforts, two individuals were rescued from the apartment.

The likely cause of the fire was attributed to "carelessness while smoking".

For firefighting, 7 units of equipment and 25 firefighters were involved.

In total, over the past day, 40 fires were reported in the Odesa region: 7 in Odesa and 33 in other localities. In 24 instances, rescuers had to respond to fires of dry vegetation covering a total area of 12 hectares.
