Specialists from Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 10 participated in the 13th Winter Stroke School held in Bern, Switzerland. This event brought together leading experts from 20 countries to discuss innovative treatment methods and share practical knowledge in stroke management.

The program included the latest international guidelines for stroke treatment for 2026, analysis of real clinical cases, and hands-on training in the angiography suite and on specially designed mannequins.

The training base was the University Clinic of Bern, where sessions on managing patients with acute ischemic strokes and workshops for practicing modern endovascular techniques were conducted.

The training was organized in pairs, consisting of a neurologist and a neuro-radiologist, fostering an interdisciplinary approach that is a standard for effective operation in stroke centers worldwide.

“This was a valuable experience for us – to see how stroke care is organized in Switzerland, to interact with colleagues from various countries, and to discuss complex clinical cases. We were pleased that foreign specialists were impressed by our experience and the rapid development of stroke care in Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Skrypka, head of the angiographic surgery and interventional neuro-radiology department at Hospital No. 10.

The knowledge and skills acquired during this international training will be utilized by Odesa medical professionals to enhance the quality of medical services provided to patients.
