Forum on Local Community Economic Development and Financial Resilience

On October 3-4, 2024, the forum titled ‘Local Community Economic Development and Financial Resilience’ took place in Lviv as part of Ukrainian Resilience Week.

This event brought together local government representatives, Ukrainian and international financial institutions, as well as experts in local finance.

Participants included Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi; First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Korniienko; Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi; representatives from the European Union in Ukraine and USAID.

Andrii Zarytskyi, acting director of the Odessa City Council’s Finance Department, represented Odessa.

Attendees discussed issues related to financial resilience and pathways for community economic development.

The event included a study visit to the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center, which provides comprehensive medical assistance to military personnel and civilians who have lost limbs.

Key topics during panel discussions included cooperation with international financial organizations, local tax administration, challenges for local financial authorities, and tools for collaboration between banks and municipalities.

The event was organized with the support of the USAID project ‘HOVERLA’.
