Odesa Karate Athletes Claim Medals at European Championship

Odesa athletes secured five medals at the European Karate Championship held from February 6 to 8 in Limassol, Cyprus.

This year's competition featured around 1200 athletes from 40 countries.

Participants from Odesa's sports schools and the All-Ukrainian Karate Federation demonstrated impressive performances.

Maxim Veckanov (Youth Sports School No. 15) became the European champion, marking his third medal at the youth continental championship.

Hanna Maistrenko (Youth Sports School No. 15) also earned a silver medal.

Vladislav Rudenko (Youth Sports School No. 16), Sergey Stankov (Legion Sports Club), and Ulyana Baranova (Okinawa Sports Club) claimed silver medals, repeating their previous successes.

Maxim and Ulyana have already headed to Fujairah (UAE) to participate in the world karate league.

The athletes were coached by: Volodymyr Zaretskyi, Oleksiy Konovalov, and instructors: Volodymyr Holoveshko, Dmytro Negaturov, Denys Sustretov, Orkhan Yusifov, and Ruslan Khomutenko.
