Patient Verification in the Healthcare System

As of June 29, over 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have verified their data in the electronic health system.

This was announced by the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko on Facebook.

He emphasized: "Changes in the healthcare system are impossible without an open dialogue with those who work with patients daily. I met with family doctors to discuss the challenges they face and to find optimal solutions together. Open dialogue is the key to the system's resilience, especially in wartime. One of the key issues currently concerning the professional community is patient data verification in the electronic healthcare system."

"I understand that this creates an additional burden on doctors. However, it is about transparency. It’s about ensuring the system funds real patients, not statistics. This is a fundamental principle of the reform: money follows the patient. In the context of limited resources, this principle becomes even more significant," Liashko stressed.

He informed that, according to the National Health Service of Ukraine, as of June 29, over 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have been verified.

"This is a significant joint effort. To strengthen it, the National Health Service of Ukraine has launched an updated analytical dashboard: each facility can see its own indicators, compare dynamics, and orient itself toward best practices," Liashko noted.

He also discussed how to act in cases where patients fail to verify, adding that clear solutions will be developed soon.

The Minister of Health urged all Ukrainians to assist in this process: "If you receive services, please confirm your data. This is about a shared responsibility for stability and fairness in the healthcare system."
