Revitalization of the Clinical Hospital in Odessa

The city clinical hospital No. 1 in Odessa, boasting a history of over 200 years, is undergoing significant revitalization.

«This is not just a renovation. It's a new chapter for the hospital, known in Odessa as the Jewish hospital, which has served the community for centuries. We are preserving our traditions and history while creating an environment conducive to healing,» emphasized Odessa's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov.

Currently, reconstruction work is being carried out on the surgical department and the former utility building, which will serve as a center for rehabilitation services.

Renovations are ongoing without interrupting medical services — the hospital continues to accept patients.

Previously, the emergency and gynecological departments were updated, and the roofs of the therapeutic and neurological buildings were repaired.

This has not only improved patient comfort but also ensured the continuity of medical services.

The facility is equipped with alternative energy and water supply sources, which are critically important in wartime conditions.

Additionally, the connection of a new modular boiler system is underway to provide stable heating for all hospital buildings.

The mayor noted that the restoration of the surgical department and the installation of the modular boiler are funded by the European Investment Bank as part of the national recovery program of Ukraine.

The project is being implemented on a co-financing basis: 80% from the bank and 20% from the city budget.
