The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, has checked the progress of the renovation at Maternity Hospital No. 5.
The repair work is funded under the Recovery Program of Ukraine, involving co-funding from the European Investment Bank and the city budget.
«80% of the funding comes from the European Investment Bank, while the city contributes 20%. Once the renovations are completed, expectant mothers will give birth in comfortable conditions, and we hope this will positively affect birth rates,» stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The modernization of the facility will enable the establishment of a perinatal center based at Maternity Hospital No. 5, as outlined in the Economic and Social Development Strategy of Odesa.
To accomplish this, a significant amount of work is necessary, including thermal modernization: insulating the facade, renovating two operating and recovery rooms, and updating electrical and internal engineering systems.
