image

Renovation works are ongoing at the Odesa Infectious Hospital.

This clinic, established in the early 19th century, is the oldest medical institution in Odesa. Historically, it has served as a vital shield for the region against dangerous infectious diseases.

The hospital provides medical assistance to residents of Odesa, the surrounding area, and internally displaced persons. Recently, the facility has gradually transformed into a modern medical center capable of effectively responding to contemporary challenges.

As part of the recovery program for Ukraine, implemented by the government and the European Investment Bank, renovation works are taking place in two buildings of the hospital.

In the Valikhovsky building, an architectural landmark, structural reinforcements are being made while authentic interior details, including marble stairs, are being restored. Currently, demolition works and strengthening of the ceilings are underway.

The internal spaces of the building will be redesigned according to modern standards, and old engineering systems will be completely replaced.

In the administrative building, the roof has been replaced, and facade restoration is nearing completion. Inside, new partitions are being installed, and ventilation, water supply, sewage, and electrical systems are being upgraded.

In addition to funding from the European Bank, repairs on other hospital buildings are being funded from the municipal budget. The two-story children's building, which will house a modern boxed department with 82 beds, is currently in the final stages of renovation.

Furthermore, the municipal budget is financing the upgrade of the drainage system and the strengthening and waterproofing of the foundation of the bacteriological laboratory.
