Representatives from healthcare and social services in Odessa participated in a training workshop aimed at the early detection of developmental issues in young children. This event was organized by the Odessa regional organization of medical-psychological-pedagogical assistance "Healthy Society" as part of the project "Resilient Families, Resilient Future," supported by UNICEF.
The training's goal was to implement developmental screenings and refine the process of identifying family needs for early intervention services.
Early intervention is a comprehensive interdisciplinary support system for families with children from birth to four years old who have developmental delays or are at risk of such delays. Integrating child development methods into daily life enhances family members' life skills and helps address identified issues while adapting the child to society.
"Odessa is renowned for its leadership in providing early intervention services. The collaboration of specialists will improve the health and quality of life for children in need of early intervention," said Tatiana Kutas, UNICEF early intervention project coordinator.
