On October 29, in honor of World Stroke Day, medical institutions in Odesa organized a Stroke Prevention Day offering free health screenings to the public. This event was supported by the Health Department of the Odesa City Council and the local health center.
All interested individuals had the opportunity to undergo preventive examinations, including measuring blood pressure, pulse, checking blood glucose levels, performing EKGs, and receiving referrals for laboratory tests and consultations if needed. Medical professionals provided advice on stroke prevention.
As a result of the event, a total of 1735 patients underwent preventive screenings. This led to the identification of 294 cases of elevated blood pressure and 102 cases of high blood glucose levels. A total of 867 EKGs were conducted, with 136 patients referred to a cardiologist. Additionally, 895 patients were directed for laboratory tests.
