On February 26, 2025, an important meeting was held at Odessa's city hall, attended by representatives from the Department of Health of the City Council, the Southern Interregional Department of the NHIF, and local medical institutions.
Denis Chorny, head of the Southern Interregional Department of the NHIF, highlighted that Odessa region and the city of Odessa have made significant achievements in Ukraine regarding the number of proposals submitted and contracts signed under the state program of medical guarantees.
During the meeting, current financing of the medical guarantees program was discussed, along with new service packages and changes in funding for ongoing areas of work. Notably, the basic tariff for primary healthcare services has increased from UAH 786.65 to UAH 844.4. The situation of patients who have not sought medical assistance for three years was also analyzed.
New operational algorithms and funding mechanisms for expert teams evaluating daily functionality, replacing the MSEC, were also discussed. Special attention was given to mental health services at both inpatient and outpatient levels, as well as community services. New directions for providing medical assistance to veterans and expanding the government reimbursement program for medications “Affordable Medicines” were presented.
«For three years, Ukraine has been going through tough times due to the full-scale war, and throughout this period, funding from the NHIF for medical services under the state program of medical guarantees has been arriving consistently and timely. This has ensured the stable operation of the city’s healthcare system, providing patients with guaranteed volumes of quality medical assistance and continuing the development and modernization of medical institutions. We thank the NHIF for reliable partnership,» said Levon Nikogosyan, director of the City Health Department.
