Tragedy at Dniester Lagoon: Fishermen Missing

A tragic incident unfolded on November 20, 2025, at Dniester Lagoon, leading to the disappearance of fishermen. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.
According to the regional emergency service, a report was received about an overturned boat and the bodies of two men found in the reeds.
Later, rescuers, in collaboration with law enforcement, retrieved the bodies of two individuals from the water. The search for a third man is ongoing, with the aid of drones.
Today, November 21, the police department commented on the event.
Law enforcement officials were informed about the incident by the dispatcher of the boat station.
Preliminary findings indicate that three elderly fishermen had come to the lagoon for a fishing trip and rented a house for several days. On the morning of their departure, while paddling back to the dock, communication with the dispatcher ceased, and later workers at the station discovered their boat and the bodies of two fishermen nearby.
The search for the third individual continues.
The police also reported that the details of the incident have been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, marked as an "accident."
The bodies will be sent for forensic examination to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
