Medical professionals at the City Clinical Hospital No. 10 in Odesa achieved a remarkable feat by simultaneously treating a patient for an acute stroke and a pulmonary embolism.
The patient, a local woman, arrived at the hospital with a severe stroke. A CT scan revealed a blockage in the middle cerebral artery.
Additionally, the medical team noticed she was having difficulty breathing, leading them to conduct further examinations of her lungs, which confirmed the presence of a pulmonary embolism.
A multidisciplinary team of doctors made the critical decision to perform a simultaneous thrombectomy on both the cerebral and pulmonary arteries.
The surgery was a success. The patient is now feeling significantly better: she is conscious and able to move her limbs.
Modern medical technologies implemented at Hospital No. 10, combined with the high professionalism of the specialists who continuously enhance their knowledge, contribute to saving lives and maintaining the health of patients.
