Every year on April 2nd, the world acknowledges a day dedicated to raising awareness about autism, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007.

The goal is to enhance understanding of autism and support individuals with autism spectrum disorders. A roundtable discussion titled 'Children with Special Needs and Their Place in Society' took place at the Community Rehabilitation Center for Individuals with Psychophysical Disabilities.

Participants included Elena Kytaienska, the Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council, along with professionals from various social protection agencies.

Experts shared their experiences working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, discussing communication methods and support strategies, as well as challenges related to motor control and hydrotherapy.

The event also featured an open music session focused on developing musical abilities in children with autism.

At the conclusion of the roundtable, attendees expressed gratitude for the organization of the event and suggested holding an international conference in Odesa, inviting specialists from various related fields.
