Scammers are using fake videos on Telegram to steal money or spread phishing links.

Details: The agency explained how the criminals operate:

• First, they hack the account and steal the user’s video messages;
• Then they create a fake video where the hacked user supposedly asks for money;
• They send this deceptive video to the user’s friends and acquaintances.

To avoid being scammed, law enforcement advises verifying the information if you receive such a suspicious message. Ask the person to contact you via another messenger or call you. It’s also wise to enable two-factor authentication to protect your account.
