According to the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, a new high-speed pilot boat has been introduced.
This boat will help the "Delta Pilot" branch to optimize its costs by reducing fuel consumption and will address the timely delivery of pilots to vessels.
"The launch of the new pilot boat is a significant step in strengthening our fleet and improving port operations," said AMPU head Oleksandr Semyrha.
The boat is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to the maritime profession and trained many specialists. Tragically, Serhiy lost his life in 2023 while trying to escape from the occupied territories of Kherson region.
In December 2024, the pilot boat "Bolotyn" began operations on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, while the construction of a third boat is ongoing in Izmir, Turkey.
