Severe weather in Transcarpathia, along with issues in Slovakia and Hungary, has caused major alterations to the schedules of international and domestic trains. Some routes are delayed, and passengers arriving from abroad are being transported to Ukraine by shuttle buses.
This information was provided by Ukrzaliznytsia.
The company reported that due to the adverse weather conditions, the railway operators in Hungary and Slovakia are forced to delay their services:
- №143/750 from Vienna and Budapest;
- №617/964 from Bratislava.
Passengers from Debrecen (Hungary) and Košice (Slovakia) will be transported to the border using shuttle buses. Subsequently, they will be picked up by train №28 of Ukrzaliznytsia at Chop station. The delay times and further departures will be determined after the buses arrive and in coordination with dispatchers from the three countries. The company warns that additional changes may occur depending on the situation, primarily in Hungary.
Furthermore, the storm has damaged the overhead contact line near Barkasovo and Skole, leading to expected delays for the following trains:
- №9 Kyiv – Budapest;
- №82 Chop – Kyiv;
- №14 Solotvyno – Kyiv;
- №38 Mukachevo – Odesa;
- №749 Kyiv – Chop (with direct carriages to Vienna).
"We traditionally collect all schedule deviations on the uz-vezemo portal. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure that we will transport everyone safely," – emphasizes the company's press service.
