Ecologists are investigating the circumstances.

Mass fish deaths have been recorded in the lagoons of Odesa and Mykolaiv.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwestern region.

The issue concerns the Hadzhybei and Tylihul lagoons. Preliminary information suggests that the causes may include elevated water temperatures, decreased dissolved oxygen levels, algae decay, and hydrogen sulfide release from the bottom.

Experts are collecting water samples to be sent to the laboratory for further analysis.
