Open Wushu Training at Inclusive Beach in Odesa

image

This weekend, an engaging open wushu training was held at inclusive beach No. 11 in Odesa. The event took place outdoors, barefoot on the sand — in a light and accessible format that suited the summer atmosphere.

Veterans of the war participated with great interest, trying their hand at this new sport. During the training, various aspects of wushu were showcased — both contact and non-contact techniques, dynamic and health-oriented directions. Everyone had the chance to try out different techniques, feel the rhythm of movement, and find their inner balance.

The event exemplified how an inclusive space can be vibrant - open to people with diverse experiences and new possibilities.

The masterclass was conducted by:
Contact Wushu (self-defense):

  • Volodymyr Shevchenko — Master of Sports of Ukraine in wushu, European champion, multiple-time champion of Ukraine, licensed participant in the upcoming World Wushu Games in sanda;
  • Oleksandr Mykolaiovych Berezhnyi — Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior coach of wushu sanda at the Odesa Wushu Federation;
  • Serhiy Fedorovych Muntyanu — war veteran, combat participant, coach in wushu sanda at the Odesa Wushu Federation.

Non-contact Wushu (health direction):

  • Valeria Blahodyr — Master of Sports of Ukraine in wushu, wellness program coach.
