Yesterday, July 23, late at night, a tragic event occurred involving a dredging vessel owned by the «Delta-Lotsman» branch of the State Enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine».

This was reported by the AMPU press service on their Facebook page.

The vessel was at the Bystre estuary carrying out scheduled operations with 11 crew members on board.

As a result of the explosion, three AMPU employees lost their lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. The remaining crew members are currently in the hospital receiving all necessary medical assistance.

Relevant services are working at the scene. Details of the incident are being clarified. Further updates will be provided.

The State Enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine» will provide all necessary support to the families of the victims and those affected by the incident.

The marine approach channel to the Bystre estuary is temporarily closed to vessel traffic. Vessels are currently navigating to/from the Danube region ports via the Sulina Canal.
