By shifting the communication style with children to a more creative and entertaining format, law enforcement organized an unforgettable experience for them, emphasizing the importance of safety rules.
The youth visited the opera and drama theaters of Odesa, immersing themselves in a world of art and aesthetic beauty. They spent time in local parks and amusement rides. Additionally, an art therapy session with a physical therapy specialist was arranged, where teenagers learned to express their emotions, overcome anxieties, and share dreams through drawings, metaphorical cards, and movements.
The atmosphere during the events was filled with trust and positivity: theatrical performances, adrenaline in the amusement park, group activities, and humor helped teenagers feel inner balance and the care of adults.
Meanwhile, juvenile inspectors discussed serious topics with the attendees. They touched on offenses that children their age might engage in, such as bullying, theft, and property damage. They urged them to immediately report any proposals that could lead to criminal activities, like setting fire to someone else's car for money. They also reminded the children of traffic rules, how to behave when encountering suspicious objects, and what to do during an air raid signal.
“The goal of such events is not to re-educate but to establish contact and mutual trust, to create conditions for personal transformation and awareness of responsibility,” said acting head of the juvenile prevention sector of the Odesa District Police Department No. 1, Yuriy Luk'yanchuk. “These teenagers need special attention, so it is our duty to care for them, ensuring they feel protected and valued by society.”
